Town Hall (2nd), Prospect St.
Built 1845. This building became police headquarters in 1873 when a new much larger, town hall was opened across the street on the corner with Washington St.

Pierce Primary School
There were two Pierce buildings, Grammar and Primary. A new, larger, Pierce Grammar School had recently opened on School St. in 1901. This building, the new Primary School building, was opened in 1904 as part of an expansion of both schools. It incorporated parts of the old Pierce Grammar School, accessible today around the right side, and still stands today as the Pierce Historical Building.
Second High School Building
Looking from Prospect St., School St. is on the right. It was built in 1856, with funds from the bequest of Edward Devotion, and demolished circa 1901. Note the two entrances in front of building, one for boys and one for girls.

Richard's Tavern, Heath St. near Hammond St.
Northeast corner of Heath and Hammond. Known as the "Old Stage Coach Tavern". Built circa 1760-70. The Worcester Turnpike (Rt. 9) passed behind the house where a tollgate was located.
