Located on the south side of Boylston St. east of Reservoir Rd. It opened in January 1891 and was eventually replaced by the current Station 4 located across the street at 827 Boylston St.
The sequence of buildings for Station D is unclear. Major changes to the building were required when the grade of Boylston St. was reduced by six feet in 1900. This building is believed to be the first iteration as it is almost identical to the fire house on Devotion St. that opened with a virtually identical front façade and doors two years later.
