Looking west on Boylston St. from the Village Square. On the right is the only known image of the removal of the south side of the Guild Building to accommodate the widening of Boylston St. The building remained a controversial eyesore in the following years. The removal was the final step in 1912 widening of Boylston St. When this photo was taken the tracks were in their new position and the other buildings had been moved back.
