The best estimate of a date for this photo, 1926, is based on the stores that are identifiable – notably that both the Winchester Sportswear for Women and the Waldorf Restaurant are not yet present. The July 9, 1926 edition of the Boston Globe announced the addition of the new traffic platform shown. It was typically manned by policeman Melvin Wharton who lived on nearby Stedman St.
