Feb. 6th 1857 -- MJ Wild -- 59 yrs. Old
My health is better than it was -- a year ago today, on many accounts -- and for a good reason. I have less to try my strength in domestic relations. God has strengthened me to bear & forebear more than I used to, and tho I am alone most of the time, I try to fill up my time usefully -- remembering
to Him alone I am accountable.
I rose today swept & dusted my parlors, put chambers in order got time to sew about 12. I sewed some read a good deal, knit some, tried to learn a tune on the piano. Dr went to B -- to see patients -- got home late din -- and is out all this eve. I have enjoyed the day. It has been sunny -- but very bad walking -- I wrote to Charly to go the 5th and to Laura. I sent a letter from Mary Enclosed was 20$ for L. & Joseph, fr. EJC -- & M.
