I went out fathers again called upon Mrs. Abby Smith. father was taken sick that night & very sick 3 days. I staid to Sat. eve and then went back to Marys. Felt sick myself from the stir[?] & moving[?] excitement in N.P. Roby & Hannah & I had the great glass boxed up.

I returned to Brookline. Spent nearly 4 $. I found Laura & family here in B. when I returned.

Laura dined in the Hall of Association

We took tea at the Davis and Dr. Wild went to Worcester. Dr. Burrows slept here.
Thurs. 29th
Dr. gave me 5$ to pay for hams. 140 John had one dol. also he gave John 5 dol. on acct. and told me to write it down. Dr. Laura & babe & girl went to Prov.

I had carpenter over half a day to put up sink & case doors
on Tues. 24th
We received a very interesting letter from C.W.W. he departed from St. Louis for Santa Fe. he wrote again from Kanasas May 30th on his way to Santa Fe. Laura returned from Prov.

We called up the Aikens & Heath & Knapps.

The Davis family took tea here. Installation in the eve at the Orthodox Church.

L & I took tea at Abby Barnetts

Bad storm but[?] L & babe was obliged to return to Fram. L & I sent a letter to Sue

I went to church all day and heard two grand sermons by Rev. K.

I wrote to Dr. Wild Sen who was to be in N. Haven Wendes. Homo. conven.%createPopUpLink> Wrote Tues. to Laura & sent her a letter just rec. from Mary & her father Edward very much driven about these days. great deal of sickness. Dr. C.W. got home Frid. morn having been absent 12 days. South & west staid at Phil. 3 days returned with a cold & not much improved by his journey.

Both Drs. very busy. I made in the last week sack & pantaloons for Watty sack for self.
There were several Abby or Abigail Smiths in North Providence where Mary's father lived.
Edward Brooks Hall was the pastor of the First Unitarian Church of Providence from 1832 to 1866
